The award was presented during the 133rd birth anniversary celebrations of Padmashree Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, held at the Anna Centenary Library, Chennai.
The Madras Library Association (MALA) holds a distinguished place in the history of library development in India. Founded on 31st January 1928 by Dr. S. R. Dr. Arumugam’s award acknowledges his exemplary efforts in advancing library and information services, fostering user engagement, and implementing best practices in library management.
